Chariot of Fire

without comments

by Treadmarkz

I have been a little busy lately. When summer hits, life usually gets a little more active for the wife and I, and such is the case this year. With spring cleaning, outdoor activities, planning getaways for later in the summer, work, and watching George Carlin videos on the net all day, I have not thought much about what I was going to write on Treadmarkz.wordpress.com. But I am thinking about my loyal readers, and it looks like you are still with me.

I have also decided that I am going to get another tattoo, for my birthday tomorrow. It is going to hurt a lot I am told, but it is going to be very good. I am getting a chariot of fire. If you take it as religious symbolism, it is the chariot that came down to escort Elijah to Heaven.

My earthly chariot is my wheelchair. And though I doubt very much that this chunk of metal and the various flavors of plastic and rubber that make up it’s attachments will be coming with me into the Great Unknown when I die, what with its loose spokes and it’s worn tires, it is a part of me. You very rarely see me walking around town without it.

I was wondering, though, does anyone have any other really good ideas for tattoos which would express their feelings toward life with their disability? I’d love to hear about that. Please comment.
